Hello all FSM Members,
My 2025 trip planning is in the works. After a great of deliberation I’ve decided to plan a trip in North America vs going to Europe next year. And I’ve chosen Red Mountain Resort which has been on my radar for a few years.
Before I get into the mountain and lodging, a few bits of information you need to know:
- The dates will be Saturday, February 22 – Saturday March 1st.
- Contact Kurt Steubing for payment information. We need your down payment by March 29, 2024.
- Register your attendance for this trip below so we can get a count on how many want to go.
More on Red Mountain. It has been awarded in the top 10 total skiable acres in North America and Ranked #1 for the most number of acres per skier. What does this mean? It means it is less crowded than all other mountains on their over 3,800 acres of skiing.

- Voted the 8th Best Place in the World to Visit by The New York Times
- Summit is only 6,800′, base is at 3,800 which is great for those who find it harder to breathe at altitude.
- And, an average of over 300″ of snow per year, POW, POW, Yahoo.
- AND we’ll be staying at the Josie Hotel at the base of the mountain for ski-in, ski-out access. With breakfast every morning.
- Red is on the IKON Base Pass.
I’m working to finalize pricing, but because we get an advantage with the US dollar, we’re hoping it’ll be about $2K (Double Occupancy) that includes: air fare, transport from Spokane to Red and back, lodging for 7 days and that includes a breakfast every morning. Single occupancy is TBD and is usually quite expensive. Note that ski tickets are not included but it is on the IKON pass, therefore I’m recommending the IKON pass for our club members next year, especially if you plan to ski Sunday River too (Marla Bornstein) will advise you about that trip. Note: Windham is still on IKON next year as is Stratton and Killington.
